Hello, I’m Rachel Savage — founder of River Bear Yoga.

I’ve spent over 20 years teaching yoga and drama, as well as working as an actor and writer.

Whether I’m leading a class, creating a story, or stepping onto a stage, I’ve always been fascinated by how movement and imagination can help children feel confident, calm and joyful.

Becoming a mother deepened that passion. I wanted every child—not just the few who can attend private classes—to have tools to steady their breath, release tension and discover their own creativity.

River Bear Yoga grew from that vision: simple, playful practices that fit into a busy school day and help children (and staff) build resilience and self-belief.

I thrive on seeing imagination at play—a child finding balance in tree pose, a group of pupils breathing together before a lesson, a teacher using a simple mindfulness game to reset the class. These small moments create a ripple of wellbeing across the school day.

My aim is for River Bear Yoga to be easy for staff, transformative for pupils, and uplifting for the whole school community.

Thank you for exploring what we offer. I’d love to help your school bring more calm, creativity and confidence to every child’s day.
